Another great Ha Ha Tonka tour is in the books! From Sept. 26 through Dec. 8, we managed to trek our way from one coast to the other in support of our new album. I (as well as the rest of the guys, although I try to only speak for myself) am so proud of how Lessons turned out. It was such a pleasure to see people responding to it live the way we had hoped. A HUGE thanks to those of you that came out. Even if you just got the record and didn’t make it to a show, THANK YOU. It still feels like there’s so many fans that haven’t gotten it into their ears yet, but there’s so much coming out these days that it’s tough to get people around to new music. Time will tell how the whole thing will play out… but the response thus far has been really flattering.
In short, we got to do some really fun things. We had some sold out shows, got a private visit to a Maurice Sendak exhibit in Philly, taped a session for World Cafe with David Dye, as well as a SiriusXM Loft session. We got to see our lovely country, and spend some time with a lot of the great friends we have sprawled out across this land. We’re lucky to do such a thing. We also fell in love with the music of our tour mate, Samantha Crain, and added a 5th member to the stage with our great friend James Cleare of the Spring Standards. It was such a pleasure having him join us. He’s a pro, to say the least.
As great as it was, it’s always good to be home. I’ve got lots of plans, as always, to get to new music. Here’s hoping it comes together as quickly as I’d like!
Again, many many thanks to those of you that offer your support. Without you, I wouldn’t be able to make even a quarter of a living doing this… which is about what I make. ;) See you all next time!
