You know what really gets my goat? When you watch local news stories on the internet and all of the audio is in mono and panned hard to one side…
It's been an interesting couple of months. Lots of stuff unfolding, and lots of major life changes happening. In the midst of all these things, I've been able to see a few projects turn into cool situations. One of which is the new K. Flay record. She and I co-wrote the closing track "Get It Right" on "Life As A Dog", which is out now. As you can see via the image above, (courtesy of her Facebook page) the album charted at 133 on the Billboard top 200, and hit number 14 in the Rap Albums category. I'm so honored to be a part of this project, even in a small way. She's one rad gal, and you should totally grab this record.
On a more down home level, the lovely Margo May released her new EP a little while ago. I engineered, produced and mixed these tracks, playing a lot of the instruments. It was a treat to work with her. Margo was a finalist on American Idol at one point, and has been been an actress on Portlandia, as well as some other lifetime features. We originally did these tracks to license to MTV, but she decided to release them on her own. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. The one below is my personal favorite.
Ha Ha Tonka wrapped it's 3rd European tour, as well as a 3 week east coast run, and now I'm back home with the fam, teaching marching band kids and working on producing a couple of new projects. Speaking of, if you're looking to make some music, hit me up. I've got some time that's opened up, and I'm totally into working on some new projects. You can drop me a line via my Need Music? page and I'll be glad to send you a price quote and some recent examples.
More detailed things to come, as well as an ACTUAL release date for the Mayor of Strawberry Hill project!
